This design reminds me of the old Victorian Cameo brooches or necklaces with the dragonfly sitting proud of the back plate.
 
This pendant is made from silver metal clay. The dragonfly is made seperate to the back plate which is textured. Once dry and sanded the dragonfly is fixed to the base, allowed to dry again and then fired leaving a 99.9% fine silver pendant. After polishing both by hand and using my tumbler i have added a patina using liver of sulphur and then given the piece a final polish to bring out the detail. 
 
This pendant measures approx 19mm long and 13mm across.
 
There is a makers mark on the back of the piece of my Hare and Moon logo. 
 
This is hung on an 18" sterling silver chain. There are matching earrings available.
